An Afternoon with Julie Marie Wade, Maureen Seaton and Denise Duhamel

Event Date: March 28, 2021 4:00 pm

Three Miami-based writers and sometime collaborators come together to talk about their respective work, poems and prose that reflect their individual journeys and common experience. In “Skirted”, Julie Marie Wade speaks of what’s been described as a “gorgeous ocean journey of becoming, landing on the complex shores of identity – daughter, thinker, poet, queer – with agency and agility.” Maureen Seaton’s “Undersea” is a free-wheeling series of love notes to her transplanted sea-struck self and a salty sidekick. And with “Second Story”, Denise Duhamel chronicles a near-catastrophic ecological and political moment, remaining hyper aware of her own complicity and agency. It’s an intriguing collection of voices that will inform what will surely be an introspective and thought-provoking conversation between colleagues and friends.
