• Wednesday, August 1, the “Booker Dozen” or the Longlist for the 2023 Booker Prize was announced. According to Chair of the judges Esi Eduygan, all 13 novels “cast new light on what it means to exist in our time, and they do so in original and thrilling ways”. The writers nominated come from seven different continents across four countries, and 10 out of the 13 are first-time. Four of which are debut authors, including Miami’s very own Jonathan Escoffery for his moving story collection If I Survive You. Here are all thought-provoking novels longlisted for this year’s Booker Prize.
