This book is sure to provoke a truly must have fever for all history buffs and Cajun music enthusiasts.

About the Author:

Roger Mason is an army brat who lived 32 years in France where he was a recognized singer-songwriter. He is credited with having introduced Louisiana Cajun music and American finger-style guitar to the French public. In 1996, Mason returned to the United States where he obtained his Ph.D in music education from the University of Miami. Currently retired from teaching music at Saint Theresa School in Coral Gables, Mason continues to direct two children’s choirs and pursues his interest in ethnomusicology as a visiting scholar at the University of Miami Frost School of Music. Mason’s recent book of traditional love songs from Louisiana, Jolie Blonde and Aimable Brune (published by Éditions Tintamarre and illustrated by Yves Gros) has attained critical acclaim.
