Books and Books presents… AN EVENING WITH Dana Swift. Join a new Writing Group at Books and Books with YA Fantasy author Dana Swift. Dana will be discussing the craft of writing along with publishing insights. You’ll get the chance to ask any and all your questions about writing, querying, and publishing. She’ll also be leading the group in a five page critique. So please bring five pages of your book or short story to read aloud for feedback. All are welcome and not required to read to attend. Better your writing craft and work towards publication with your local indie bookstore!
7pm – 9pm Six readers will read their work aloud, with a break after three readers.
9pm Eat dinner at the Cafe with Dana Swift and discuss your work further.
Tickets are $10.00 and will be redeemable for a free drink, which can include house wine, beer, or a coffee.
We will be meeting in the courtyard cafe at Books & Books. The cafe is generously extending their Happy Hour menu for the writers participating in this event. So come hungry & thirsty!
About:
Dana Swift started making up fantasy worlds when she was eleven years old and hasn’t stopped since. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned degrees in English and Advertising. Dana currently lives in Miami, Florida where she works as the children’s book buyer for Books & Books, the beloved local indie bookstore.
