About the Event:
“To pay attention. This is our endless and proper work.” Mary Oliver
“Only that day dawns to which we are awake.” Henry David Thoreau.
What is mindfulness? How does one get started? And how does one find time for it? In this introductory workshop to the practice of mindfulness, we explore answers to these questions. Although not a cure-all, formal and informal mindfulness practices are associated with enhanced well-being, including an increased ability to focus, to listen, to sleep restfully, and to be in a more easeful relationship with yourself and others. The bottom line? Mindfulness helps us be more present for the various moments of our lives—the challenges, the beauty, and the full catastrophe.
No experience necessary; skeptics especially welcome.
