Books & Books is excited to present an afternoon with Femke Tewari as she discusses her book, Miami Women: Photographs & Stories.

***Please note: This event will take place at the Books & Books in Coral Gables at 265 Aragon Ave. Tickets are FREE and books will be available for purchase at the event. 


About the Book:

Miami Women is an ode to the beauty and diversity that defines our unique coastal metropolis. Photographer Femke Tewari introduces us to heroes, crusaders, trailblazers, creators, and water women captured against appealing locales throughout the city.

As told in their own words, every individual story is compelling. Whether native-born or transplanted, each women offers inspiration, strength, wisdom, and a joyful love for life.

Gorgeous photography reveals the inner beauty of each participant in vivid detail.

From refugees to surfers to philanthropists and politicians, Miami Women highlights the authentic voices of the city’s cultural melting pot.

 

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade, an organization working to create positive change for women and girls.


About the Author:

FEMKE TEWARI is a Dutch, Miami-based Lifestyle, Fashion & Travel photographer whose clients include Dove, Ogilvy, and Hilton Hotels. Her work has featured in publications like The Miami Herald, Essence, SurfGirl, and Ocean Drive magazine. She created her first coffee table book Miami Women to showcase some of the most influential and dynamic women in Miami as sources of inspiration for girls like her mixed-race and adopted daughters.
