About the Book:
We may remember the moment that first inspired us. Our vision, combined with our character, became something more pragmatic. We focused on the meat and potatoes of success, not the souffle. We know that the magnetic feeling of passion flowing through our veins does not change as life does; it becomes more refined, like a glass of old wine. Our integrity keeps us true to the slow and steady fight for justice. We are loyal enough to never compromise our passion for temporary gain. That is true selflessness!
Because of our loyalty, we never give up on the cause or the people’s lives we touch. As John Joseph Powell once said, “it is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being.” The successful ally shows others the meat and potatoes of channeling their pain and suffering into strength. The best allies will inevitably get close to those they assist because they help heal others’ wounds; they repair broken skin. That is the attractive quality of compassion and selflessness at work. Intimacy is not decided by time or opportunity. It is decided by disposition and sincere effort for a better tomorrow. Slow and steady sincere effort is the tried-and-true path to victory.
