The paintings and writings in the Harry Midgely book were begun, not as a series, but rather as an experiment in a new medium – egg tempera on panel- in March 2011. The narrative coherence of the work developed over six years (2011 to 2017) and gradually became the tale of one character “Harry Midgely” who allowed me -through him- to investigate many scenes and ideas in his imaginary world and my own. The written works include several pieces done over two decades and seem to fit into my idea of Harry’s adventures.
