Join us for a very special evening with Miami art collector Martin Z. Margulies as he discusses his experiences building one of the top contemporary art collections in the world.

It was 20 years ago that Martin Z. Margulies opened up his extensive collection to the public in a Wynwood warehouse, becoming an international art destination. Over two decades later, The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse has expanded to the current 50,000 square foot collection of contemporary art.

To celebrate it’s 20 year anniversary, The Margulies Collection is presenting a special exhibit titled ”Can It Really be 20 Years Already?” which will be accompanied by the launch of a two-volume book highlighting  the artists who have found a home with the renowned Margulies Collection.

Martin will give a 45-minute talk using projected images of art from the two-volume book on the collection followed by short Q & A session.
We are honored to celebrate one of Miami’s greatest cultural icons and look at the future of art in our city.

While the first volume covers works from the private collection, the second will focus on the Warehouse, shedding light on the collection’s extensive photography and video holdings as well as large-scale sculpture and installation. An entire chapter will be dedicated to Anselm Kiefer, whose monumental works have come to define the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse.

The publications include essays by Michael Danoff, curator, writer, art advisor, and professor at New York University’s Steinhardt School; Barbara London, founder of the video collection and exhibition program at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; and Marvin Heiferman, curator, writer, and professor at the School of Visual Arts and Bard College in New York. Designed by Joseph Margulies and Javas Lehn Studio, New York.

Proceeds from the sale of the books will benefit the Lotus Village, a 520-bed shelter providing wraparound services to homeless women and children. Since 2004, the Lotus Village has been dedicated to the support, education, advancement and social inclusion of poor, disadvantaged and homeless women and children in Miami.
