James Grippando

James Grippando is the bestselling author of The Abduction, The Informant, The Pardon and A King's Ransom. He was a trial lawyer in Florida for twelve years until he became a writer. The idea for his novel, The Pardon, was born out of his experience working in the court of appeals dealing with last resort cases for death row inmates, and wondering a few times, if some of those tried and convicted were actually innocent. His books feature Miami criminal defense lawyer, Jack Swyteck, who takes on some biographical characteristics, like the fondness for the same classic corvette. In his latest book, Hear No Evil, which is the forth installment of his series of legal thrillers, Swyteck is faced with a choice to take on a case defending a woman against accusations of murdering her husband, an officer that had been stationed at the military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Though he refuses the case at first, his motive to take the case gains leverage when she tells him that she is the adopted mother of his biological son.
