Ana Veciana-Suarez writes a column for The Miami Herald about family, education, women's and social issues. She is the author of the novel, The Chin Kiss King, nominated for the prestigious international IMPAC award in 1998. Her most recent book is Birthday Parties in Heaven: Thoughts on Love, Life, Grief, and Other Matters of the Heart. Her work is also included in the anthology, Father, and recent publications include Flight to Freedom, and Miami: The Magic City.
