PJ Library Story Time: It's great to find someone who loves books as much as we do. That's why we proudly work with the PJ Library, who encourages Jewish families to cuddle up at night with their favorite stories. Once a month, the PJ Library partners with local Jewish schools to hold a special story time at our stores to teach important values to Jewish families. Hands-on crafts follow.

FOR KIDS & FAMILIES: Through the Eyes of My Haitian Friend ($20) was created by students from Ms. Slattery's first grade class at W.J. Bryan Elementary Museums Magnet School. They created and painted the imaginative drawings and also developed the story which depicts how two young children explore cultural diversity, community, welcome friendship and embrace differences. These artists and authors range from six to eight years of age and have diverse ethnic backgrounds. Nine of them are from Haiti and the other students' families originated from America, Pakistan, Jamaica, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cuba and Columbia. A special thanks to the staff of the Haitian Museum for their invaluable assistance in the creation of this book. They provided artifacts, folklore and the background knowledge needed for the students to be totally immersed in all aspects of the culture of the island of Haiti. Students read from the book this afternoon.
