Speak out! Read out! Celebrate Banned Books Week with Books & Books by taking part in the American Booksellers for Free Expression’s Virtual Read-Out. We’ll film you reading from your favorite banned books tonight. These two-minutes recordings will go on ABFFE’s dedicated YouTube channel – a national sounding-off against censorship. Bring your own favorite banned book or chose from the unfortunately-always-growing list. Banned books range from classics like 1984 (Signet, $9.99) by George Orwell to new favorites such as The Hunger Games (Scholastic, $8.99) by Suzanne Collins. Sign up here to read aloud and let your voice be heard. What will you read?
Start: 8:00 pm
Swami Chidananda is a senior disciple of Yogi Gupta, one of the great Yoga Masters from India. She has been studying, practicing and teaching the higher forms of Yoga for more than a decade in Florida and Massachusetts. In 108 Pearls of Wisdom ($20) she offers us a spiritual and motivational call for people to look inside their hearts where the truth is and tap the tremendous power of the inner source to fulfill their material and spiritual needs and ultimately the peace that passes all understanding. The author is presenting these universal truths in a highly appealing poetic form, which provides not only food for thought but also stirs the heart and soul of the reader.
